Today in History we were learning about various Indian Tribes in the United States and some of their most famous members. One such member of the Cherokee tribe was Sequoya. He was famous for putting the Cherokee Language into writing. He did not make an alphabet but used "syllabary".
Here are some examples of the Cherokee Written Language.
The girls had fun using their ink wells and calligraphy pens.
Of course Sarah had several of the sounds and syllables memorized and sounded very Indian to me! :)

Wow. What lovely caligraphy pens! Do you use them a lot?
They like using them. I wouldn't say alot, but maybe once a month they get them out....
The big thing now is writing old fashioned notes and having them delivered. :)
We need to get them a wax seal to make them more authentic.
These were Christmas presents last year.
I like it when Christmas presents are lasting. :)
My eldest loves caligraphy. He loves copying Torah and to write Arabic.
this is where we purchased our pens and ink well.
