Oh my these girls are growing up! It doesn't seem like long ago they were so little, playing with dolls and making mud pies.
Next year, 3 of them will be in 9th grade! Where has the time gone?
I really do love this age. You can talk about so many things at such a deep level. Sometimes they WANT to talk, and sometimes they don't. :) Sometimes they prefer to write things down and have you write a reply back. Whatever it takes, I want to make sure they know that they can tell me anything, anytime, always and forever!
Today, after our morning devotions, I asked the girls to write down 5 things that are GOOD about themselves. "Reflect for a few minutes and just jot down those 5 things." At first a couple of them were rather uncomfortable. And then every body succeeded to write 5 things down. All were thoughtful. :)
Tomorrow, I will have them write 5 things that are good about a sister. Sometimes when you write your thoughts down and think about them, the good in somebody else is much easier to see. We will do this for a few more days until we cover all the sisters, and then we are going to share the lists.
I want them to be confident young ladies. I want them to see the best in each other. I want them to have confidence to stand against bullies. )
I have so much to share with them. :)
Loving this mama thing. :)

Prayer Quote
“I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time- waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God- it changes me.”

Faith
I believe in the sun even when it's not shining. I believe in love even when I don't feel it. And I believe in God even when He is silent. (quote found on the wall of a concentration camp)
