His Mercy

"His Mercies Are New Every Morning"

A Thought

In this life we can not always do great things. But we can do small things with great love.." :) Mother Teresa

Prayer Quote

“I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time- waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God- it changes me.”
― C. S. Lewis

Faith

I believe in the sun even when it's not shining. I believe in love even when I don't feel it. And I believe in God even when He is silent. (quote found on the wall of a concentration camp)

National Pickle Day

Did you know that today is National Pickle Day?  I received a very important email notifying me of this very fact!
And my mind went immediately to about 10 years ago when I tried to make pickles.  Well, I didn't try, I actually DID make them, and I thought they turned out fine.

But the girls made up this song:
I felt it was worth repeating.... to make this day more memorable.

"Christie's Pickles are the best!
Serve them to unwanted guests.
Stuff your mattress with the rest,
CUZ
Christie's Pickles are the best!"

Love from my little darlings.

Hello,

How wonderful that you are blogging again. I remember our FRUA days fondly and in so many ways, they seem like a dream. In general, life was simpler and I felt more "on top of my game." In some ways I'd love a do-over but in other ways, I'm grateful for what's behind me. I suppose it de[ends on the day! Your transparency in posting is refreshing. I especially relate to the mixed emotions surrounding transitions since some of our transitions were wanted and others, not so much. You seem to have reconciled well that which a parent cannot control - which is so much more than we imagined. I'm guessing you sleep well at night knowing that you did what you could and are still willing to pitch in if and when your kids need you. I used to have Julie's email. Do you ever speak to her? Give her my regards if you do. My child is doing what we are calling a "gap year." That said, her next steps are not at all clear to me and I am slowly - very slowly - learning to be comfortable wit not justifying her next steps to well-meaning inquiries. Even our joy feels complicated.

Lovely to see your gorgeous family growing and learning. Be blessed today.

AWW thank you Melin. I do have her email and number. I'll let her know you want to connect if you like. :)
Or, I'll just send her here. :)

We ARE doing well and I'm so thankful. I have pictures to put up for Thanksgiving.... as soon as I get in gear, I'll do that! LOL
Great to hear from you!
